German House

What you need to know about the German House:

♦ The German Department operates four apartments (two for men and two for women) in the foreign language house complex located across from the MTC next to married housing.

♦ Six students live in the apartment, one of whom is usually a native speaker who helps students to improve their language proficiency.

♦ Students enjoy the same kind of language immersion as Study Abroad without the cost.

♦ While in the apartment, only German is spoken. Guests can visit in the comfortable visitor’s lounge.

♦ The social hour, four times a week, includes dinner with everyone and lively conversation.

♦ The ward meets in the complex on Sunday. A German Sunday school class is organized by the bishop.

♦ Rent includes utilities, laundry facilities, dishwasher, and a microwave.

♦ Residents enjoy significant improvement in German communication.

♦ Applications are accepted for fall, winter, spring and summer.
